Everyday we engage in conversation.  We talk to people at work, classmates, friends and family.  Have you ever stopped to think about where these conversations get us in life?

UIUC's First Sale of the Year!

Submitted by Christina Bongabong, UIUC FG, Featured Blogger

Tuesday, Sept. 14, marked FeelGood UIUC's very first day of grillin' cheese for the year. And let me tell you, it turned out to be way better than expected! In the first hour, we managed to make more than 15 sandwiches and had $32 donated to the cause. Now that may not be that much compared to other chapters, but for us, it's A LOT. See, we're a small chapter at a big state school that boasts more than 800 student organizations, so you could say we have some  competition on our hands. It's not easy getting people's attention when the club next to you on the quad is selling ice cream sundaes and the one across from you is having an epic freestyle rap battle with a cute dog as their mascot to boot. The Harry Potter Club is usually playing pseudo-quidditch not too far away either.

The Woman in the Pink Suit

I recently went out to breakfast with a woman who served as my mentor when I went through confirmation at my church. Over the past seven years, we’ve kept in touch off and on, and I’ve have continually looked forward to our talks about anything and everything over breakfast at our town diner. Alright, so this is all fine and good, but why am I writing about this? Because my mentor, Mrs. H., has a knack for telling me stories that just don’t just make me feel good, but revive my hope in the world. So for this blog post, I figured I would share one of the stories she told me at our last breakfast.

Mrs. H., now in her late sixties, went on a pretty incredible European trip sometime in her early twenties. During her trip, she visited an old professor who was spending a year as a visiting professor at the University of Paris. Keep in mind, this was way before the days of instant communication, and letters were the key to meeting up with anyone. Mrs. H took a train into the city, fully expecting to meet the professor and his family at the station. But when she got in, at ten pm on a Saturday night, no one was there to claim her.

The World Cup Meets FeelGood!

Submitted by The Flawger, FG4L, Featured Blogger

Turns out the Flawger is a HUGE sports fan and an even BIGGER World Cup fan!  Needless to say I just had to bring the two together for this next post.  Fortunately, nothing could be easier (although I did need to use some extensive photoshop skills as exhibited below)!  The World Cup is the greatest single sporting event, no dispute.  More diehard fans come together for this event than any other.  The World Cup means the world to much of the world...
