Gender Equality
200 Points
Ends Mar 31, 2010
Individual Challenge: You may have started this visioning process as a group, as part of this week’s Journey. Here’s a chance to make it personal: Imagine a world where men and women are treated as equal partners…what would that world be like? Why? Describe your vision, and list three things you can do now to help make that vision a reality. Post it for cheese points!

gender equal
i really like the metaphor of 'half the sky.' in a world where women and men are equal i guess you could say it would be sunnier. it would be a world where everyone's vision was a part of the big picture. everyone would feel comfortable expressing themselves, and being a part of something TOGETHER. the big thing for me is that idea of equal representation. in a world where women and men are equal partners there would be acknowledgment that women and men are different, but that they both have something to bring to the table. our differences can bring us together, not just apart.
to make this vision happen, i will continue to not ignore the issues surround gender equality. it is important that people acknowledge the reality surrounding gender equality whether it is in the United States or elsewhere.

equality
A world of equality is an essential goal which, once accomplished, can have a great impact on the world. I think there is a lot that all of us (males too, like me) can do to strive towards equality. I can help by spreading the word, fostering respect for everyone, and getting others to do so as well. Whether this is simply by mentioning the importance of gender equality while serving a delicious FeelGood sandwich, or doing something larger/more influential, we all can help to make the difference that is long overdue.
