The Big Cheese Summer Training Camp

1000 Points

Ends May 31, 2010
Chapter Challenge: In this week’s Journey, you brainstormed input and ideas for The Big Cheese Summer Training Camp by responding to three important questions. Share your chapter’s answers here for 1000 Cheese Points!

Pitt FeelGood's Ideas!

SKILLS/TOPICS TO BE ADDRESSED
1. Hands-on symbolic activities to do with our chapters (like the ribbon activity in NYC)
2. Ideas for integrating new members in the fall (similar to FeelGood Rush Week, I suppose)
3. Unconventional advertising
4. Large non-deli events that other chapters have held (concerts, runs, hunger banquets, etc.)
5. Where our money is actually going (THP, Choice, other FeelGood-approved organizations?)
- - -
FAVORITE CAMP GAMES
1. Mafia
2. Wink murder
3. Wombat game (I don't know what this is...)
4. Human knot
5. Team-building exercises
- - -
TOP 5 GOALS
1. Connecting/getting to know other chapters
2. Understanding where our money is going (with the transition from just supporting THP, to supporting other organizations)
3. Gaining skills for communicating with customers about our cause
4. Sharing innovative ideas with each other (advertising, meeting structures/content, etc)
5. Participating in workshops with time to process each one (especially in comparison to the Hunger Summit, which was only three days and was on a weekend during the fall semester, which made processing everything a little hard)

Summer Cheeseyyyyyyy!

So, we talked about The Big Cheese Summer Training Camp briefly at our Monday meeting.

We're really excited about what you have already brainstormed and planned first of all.

1)- Financials of FGWorld (since all of our money goes to THP)
- A more specific breakdown of the financials of THP
- How can individuals contact THP
- Tools and methods for creating partnerships with local businesses, restaurants, bakeries, farms
- FG in high schools- how can those chapters be started? Can we help?
- A packet of information about how various chapters plan special events: example- hunger banquets, jamm'n, dance marathons

2)We didn't really brainstorm any games.

3)I think most of these answers coincide with the above ones. However, I think another underlying goal is to further connect with other FG leaders from chapters across the country.
