Welcome to Bryn Athyn College Leadership 100 & 101--A collaboration with FeelGood World!

Course Description:
This two-term, 1.5 credit Experiential Education course is an innovative, hands-on opportunity for students to develop the skills necessary for becoming a successful loving, global leader, through a social entrepreneurship project with FeelGood World.  Students analyze their leadership abilities and target areas to strengthen.  Students set measurable goals that stretch their capabilities through the challenges and homework assignments with the FeelGood organization. Students identify and discuss leadership character qualities that are required in a leader and then determine ways to build these qualities in their own lives.

Introduction to the Curriculum:
The curriculum is an experiential learning program that focuses on three areas essential to students’ development as leaders:

* Leadership Skills: Learning, adapting and applying these skills as leaders with our micro-partner FeelGood World, as one example of solving the issue of world hunger.

* Team Building: Discussing and using leadership assessments and models as methods for critical analysis and self evaluation.

* Global Citizenship Skills: Exploring humanity's increasing interdependence, and facilitating development as effective contributing member of an emerging global community.

The FeelGood Experience

Delis for the end of hunger: Leadership and social entrepreneurship in action! Featuring gourmet grilled cheese sandwichesstudents run delis and raise money and awareness for FeelGood Certified organizations sustainably eradicating chronic hunger around the world. 100% of deli sales go to hunger ending strategies that work!

Students as Changemakers: Students engage, peer-to-peer, in an integrated curriculum to gain the hands-on skills of a social entrepreneur and global leader.  Students graduate college ready to respond to the world’s most pressing issues, in strategic and compassionate ways.

An expanded dialogue: Students learn to think systemically about our most pressing global issues. The FeelGood mission: To end world hunger, one grilled cheese at a time. Hunger is not an issue of food. Hunger is an issue of dignity, opportunity and selfhood. When selfhood is denied to millions of people, our own selfhood is diminished, too. And when millions of our sisters and brothers regain their dignity, the essence of our humanity is restored. Through this class, students deepen the dialogue around hunger, our human condition and how, together, we can respond.
