UVM Launches FeelGood World Challenge!
HEYYYYYYYYYYY….How much would YOU contribute to see two FeelGooders parade around campus for one week dressed as grilled cheese sandwiches?
That’s what Katie Sacks and Cat Gannascoli—the two Spirit Chairs at UVM FeelGood—are about to find out!
Katie and Cat have launched an awesome challenge on BEEX.org (http://www.beex.org), a cool new community fundraising platform where individuals and groups leverage their social networks to raise money for their favorite nonprofits by promising to perform silly and outrageous 'challenges' if their fundraising goals are met!
In Cat and Katie’s case, the challenge is to raise $1,500 by March 22nd for FeelGood World, “at which point,” says Katie, “we will wear these silly sandwich costumes we made for 7 days!”
Why did they launch this challenge? “We wanted to do something bold that would both raise money and spread awareness about FeelGood, at least across our campus, and hopefully beyond!” says Katie.
To help promote the challenge, Cat and Katie are using their online social network, as well as doing a lot of emailing and posting flyers all over the UVM campus.
And, since they’re raising the money for FG as a whole, they hope to enlist the help of the entire FG community. That means YOU!
“We really need the help of the other chapters to promote this,” says Cat, adding: “part of the reason for launching this challenge is to show people how easy it can be to involve family and friends in FG’s mission.”
About Katie and Cat
A sophomore at UVM, Cat is an Environmental Studies major, with minors in Spanish and Community and International Development. She first learned about FeelGood when visiting the UVM campus as a high school senior. She was so impressed by the spirit and motivation of the FG UVM chapter, it became one important reason why she chose to attend UVM over other universities.
Katie, originally from Ottawa, Canada, came to UVM as a transfer student in her sophomore year, and got involved with FG pretty much on arrival. What got her hooked? A big “Welcome” event at the Student Center, where FG was giving away free grilled cheese sandwiches.
Now, both Cat and Katie are FG Spirit Chairs, where they play a critical role in member retention, and getting chapter meetings off in fun, high-spirited fashion.
