1st Steps to Setting-Up Your Chapter - recruiting administration support
Just as important as getting students on board is getting your faculty on board.
The more support you have from the big dogs, the easier your life will be. For
example, if you want to put up a big advertising campaign around campus, you might
get some resistance from your administration unless they already know who you
are and support your cause. So remember; tell your teachers, faculty, etc. about
FeelGood whenever you can.
In addition to their general support, you will need to contact your University Faculty and/or administration for:
- Finding an advisor for your student organization- Many schools require you to get a faculty member to be the advisor for your organization. Their official level of commitment depends on the University’s student organization requirements.
- Permanent Location: You will have to get authorization from the University to eventually get a permanent location for the kiosk in campus grounds (next page).
Advisor
It is easiest and best to work with a Professor or Faculty member who you know and have a good relationship with. Try to find someone who you think will be excited by being involved with FeelGood and who can commit by attending one meeting a month and provide counsel and support.
